Disappointed with the Spirit.Ive cruised with Norwegian several times and have always had good things to say. I enjoy the Freestyle concept. The Spirit is not on the same par as their other ships. Our balcony room was tiny! I mean small. No refrigeration or mini bar and very little storage. One thing to note ladies. For me this was HUGE...you cannot use your own hairdryer. The electrical sockets will not accept hair dryers! You have to use this ridiculous wall mounted hair dryer in the bathroom that has no power at all. If you have hair issues be forewarned. I admit Im a bit on a foodie and I have to say the food quality was poor. The buffet was terrible. We ate there at lunch and it was lacking selection. More salad and fresh items are needed. The desserts were inedible. The specialty restaurants were a bit better but not on the level of the other ships. A couple of positives...The Trattoria (Italian) was wonderful despite being a roped off area of the buffet. Nice antipasto platter and the Osso Bucco with polenta was fantastic. Also make sure to sign up for the Taste of India dinner. Offered only once on the cruise. Its a 21 course meal prepared and served by the many Indian crewmembers. At only $15 dollars its the best kept secret onboard. The 24 hour Blue Lagoon items were dissapointing. The spinach and artichoke dip tasted like glue and the tables and seats there are uncomfortable.Lastly and this is big for me. The main pool is supposed to be for adults ONLY.Kids were everywhere. They have their own pool in the aft area. Please enforce the rules NCL staff. On a lighter note the crew on the Spirit is one of the best on any ship at sea. Very cheerful and helpful. A delight. Our room steward Gede was outstanding. Great personality and very attentive.Skip the Spirit. Try the Pearl. Im looking for a more sophisticated experience next time and will sail with Celebrity.
