We have never done a cruise and we decided on Royal and Voyager based on the fact that the others traveling with us had done the eastern Caribbean before.
Getting on the ship did not go well. The agent that was processing our reservations seemed to be having a bit of difficulty getting our reservations to take and was reluctant to ask for help from supervisors. Agents around us were processing people a quite a brisk pace and after 35 minutes and frayed nerves we finally got our Sea Passes. Once through the door, we were stopped at least 5 times by security and 4 or more times for pictures, dining times and the like before we even got to the gangplank. Once on board, it took a short amount of time to get to our staterooms and the staff on hand was very helpful and friendly in directing us to our stateroom.
The stateroom was nice and comfortable. We had adjoining staterooms with our kids (ages 19 and 14)so we had a bit more space to move around. Our stateroom attendant (Dione) was a great guy. Very friendly and always had a joke or two for a quick laugh.
Decor is dated. LOTS of mauve (can you say 1990's) all over the ship especially in the hallways.
