Having sailed a Mediterranean cruise aboard Celebrity Equinox last year (first time Celebrity cruise), my husband and I booked this Celebrity Century cruise to the western Caribbean as a birthday celebration. It was not quite the quality we expected of Celebrity.

Living in Florida, we drove three hours to Miami and parked in a garage about two miles from the port. Free shuttle service to the terminal was included. Embarkation was excellent; no wait at check-in and easy access to the ship. We were met by staff offering orange juice, mimosas or champagne. What a wonderful way to start a cruise!

We found our cabin easily. We have previously sailed only in veranda cabins; this was our first oceanview. Upon entering, we were struck with how small this cabin appeared compared with the balcony cabins we have booked on other ships. That said, there was more than adequate closet and drawer space in the cabin. We did not use all of the drawers and the closets were large. There was a need for more hangers (particularly pants hangers). The room was contemporary in style and very clean. The bedspread needed to be replaced; there was lint and pilling all over it. The bathroom was larger than expected, but showed signs of age; black spots where the sink met the counter and black spots in the shower.

Ocean View

Cabin 04

Contemporary decor, light wood dresser and closets, bedspread tacky (pilling and lint), bathroom showing age, ample drawers and closets, quiet.
