My very first cruise, was the exact cruise, I just came back from. I was very disappointed to say the least. The service and food was sub-standard compared to our previous 3 cruises with Carnival. I was not expecting Carnival to be the quality that I have always experienced on Princess, but at least acceptable.

Boarding went smooth and fairly quick. We met our cabin steward and other then calling him to the cabin for bed rearrangement, that was the only time we saw him. I am use to seeing my cabin steward during the cruise, which I enjoy. Our Dining Room Waiter was seen once to take the order and then to deliver our entree, the assistant did the rest. I can't even tell what his name was. The food in the dining room and on the Lido deck was poor to fair and the choice was poor. The entertainment was way below the standard of any cruise line, it was like they found anyone at the pier to hop on and try to entertain us.

Now I know Carnival, especially the 3 & 5 day cruises are known as the Party Cruises but it was 75% full of drunks, yelling down hallways, banging on the walls and floor. It really was amazing that no one fell over board, to be honest. I know Carnival wants to earn that alcohol revenue but they really need to be a little more responsible on over serving, when it is apparent that someone is close to alcohol intoxication. I also noticed many under age drinkers and the crew just choose to ignore it because after all that would be more tip revenue.

Keep your over sold drunks under control. I placed calls to Customer Service Desk and was told they could not do anything about it unless they were causing injuries.

Cabin was fine.
