My husband and I are in our mid forties and have cruised together 5 times (including this cruise). We were desperate to get out the snowy Northeast (Boston area) and booked this cruise in late January. Boy, are we glad we did!

We had a truly fantastic week on the Pearl on the Western Caribbean route.

Flight: we flew American non-stop from Boston. As you all as my witnesses I pledge right now - NEVER again. The weather was perfect all over the country the day we left (i.e. - no weather delays at all). Our flight left over an hour late screwing up connections for many of the folks on our flight. Thankfully we were staying over night in Miami so we were not impacted. I swear American has jammed in about 10 more rows of seats since the last time I flew with them. There is no legroom left at all. The seats are old and worn (my seat pocket was ripped - my magazines and water kept falling out). Flight was completely full - sigh.. remember the days when once in a while there was an empty seat next to you?

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BA

We've had balconies the last several times we've cruised including the last two cruises on the Pearl and the Jewel. Strangely enough this room seemed slightly smaller. Who knows - maybe we're getting bigger. :-) There was only a few inches between the bed and the wall (don't recall that last time). Otherwise room was fine with lots of storage space and in a good location on the ship.
