Cruise number 8 for us. Went with a group of 5 on this trip. 2 couples and 1 single all over 60. Three cabins and the single didn't get a break on the VE cat cabin.

Left Chicago Saturday, a day early to FLL on Southwest. Airfare to Florida in February can be all over the map. We all paid different rates for the trip. I booked the earliest and got the best fare. Stayed at Comfort Suites at 1800 Rt 1 which we've stayed at before. It's getting a little run down and the air wasn't working so good. Next time I'm trying someplace else. They picked us up at the airport for free.

After we got settled about 4PM my wives "Casino Radar" went into alarm state and we found ourselves headed for the Hard Rock Casino/Hotel. If I would have known we were going all the way back past the airport I would have found a hotel more centrally located. We spent $120 round trip cab to the casino. Nice place, BIG. We signed up for a casino players card which got us some free play and I actually wound up winning $100. We had dinner there. I mentioned as we were signing up that we will be on their mailing list and might even be able to book a room there next trip at a reduced rate and that we would probably have something in the mail from them when we got home. Guess what was waiting for us when we got home. LOL. Then back to the hotel. Read more
