A Value for Cost Cruise Experience

Sail Date: February 2011
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Baltimore
First let me say that after reading all the negative reviews about the PRIDE cruise experience, we had thought about cancelling! We are very happy that we did not. Arrival at the Port of Baltimore and check in could easily be expedited by for example pre-paying for parking to reduce lines and adding several mare payment stations. Overall the ship check in procedure was not so bad as compared to others we have experienced and moved along a a reasonable pace. All the personnel were at check in wore smiles and were helpful.

The ship itself has great character and as mature adults were not offended by the nude portraits from the Masters as were some of the reviewers you will read. Three elevator banks with many elevators per bank made it very easy to find our way around the ship and we never had to waist time waiting for an elevator as had happened on many of our cruises. The overall appearance of the ship interior was extremely clean as was our stateroom; and it was kept that More way. Several reviews indicated that the rooms were dirty and that they did not see the room steward for the entire 7 days. These cruisers must have been on a different ship or they just never slept in their room?

The food was very good to excellent as were the staff in the restaurants. The entertainment was very enjoyable as the young singers and dancers gave it there all.

This is a perfect cruise for first timers as well as jaded cruisers like ourselves who do not want the hassle of air travel. We do not think one could find a better cruise experience at these prices. Go and have a great time!!! Less

Port and Shore Excursions

Great beach warm friendly Bahamians.

Everyone we met were warm and friendly. We took a cab ride to a small public beach near the Atlantis Hotel where we had a nice Lunch. Some of your reviewers indicated that the Bahamians were rude and nasty. Nothing could be further from the truth! We were not pestered at the beach; and our cab driver back to the ship excused himself prior to proceeding to the port in order to help a cruiser in a wheel chair (he was on the PRIDE) up a sandy hill so that our fellow passenger could spend a few minutes at the beach. Does that sound like someone who would not spit on you if you were on fire as another reviewer wrote?
