ncl 4 us

Sail Date: January 2011
Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean
Embarkation: Barcelona
well, this may be a little late, but hear goes.

my wife and i had taken a cruise in early january, leaving from barcelona to italy / greece / turkey / egypt / malta, then returning to barcelona, around 14 days in all,and what a great time we had on the norwegian jade.

this was our 4th cruise, and it was as good or better than any cruise ship we have been on.from the friendly staff to the friendly friendly room service people, this was a pleasure of a holiday.the rooms were kept spotless, and service all round on the ship was great.

the food in the general eating areas was of a good standard ,with the occasional hot indian curry to savour, but the food in the specialty restaruants was to die for, cagney's was terrific, and the chinese was some of the best i have ever eaten,o.k you pay a little bit extra, but, your doing something special in your life.

the entertainment was of a very high standard, but i thought the final show involving all of the staff was by far More the best, what a great laugh.

there were a couple of people who came on board with a influenza / gastro virus (detected by the ships doctor etc)the action the ship took to stop anybody from contracting the virus was nothing short of marvelous, even though it it meant the staff had to serve all food themselves (no self serve).take a bow ncl, with this action you probably saved the cruise.

the ports of call were excellent, along with embarkation and disembarkation both at ports, and starting and leaving the cruise.

take a bow again ncl norwegian jade captain and crew, god willing we will certainly cruise with you again.

thank you kindly

Cabin review:

both my wife and myself have given up smoking, and we do 'not' begrudge anyone from having a smoke, and as we always cruise in a balcony cabin,we now find it not nice to be sitting on our balcony with people smoking on the balcony either side of i stated we are 'not' against anyone doing what they want to do, but we also feel we are entitled to our space. may i suggest,(and this may take a time period to have people adjust)that ship owners designate one side (port or starboard)as the smoking side of the ship, and as roomsare being sold, start from the stern of the ship, and work forward,so aat least when the ship is in motion, the smoke fumes are going to the stern of the ship. or if because some people like to be midships or farward,at least make one side of the ship smoking only, and let the people who don't smoke have the other side. thank you kindly
