This was my third cruise, and my first on Princess. For the boyfriend and my parents, it was their first cruise ever. We had a great experience and we would definitely cruise with Princess again. It exceeded each of our expectations of a cruise.

Embarkation and Disembarkation

We flew across the country Friday night, arriving in Ft. Lauderdale around 10:30 Saturday morning. Due to snow storms in the east, we were worried a flight would be delayed or cancelled as they were the night before. But, we were relieved to get to the ship promptly. We were quickly whisked away from the baggage claim to the bus which took us to the ship. Upon walking into the building, going through security was quick and pleasant and a lot easier than security at the airport. We were given a card with a number designating the group we were in and we sat down. After noon, as the numbers were called in order, we formed lines by which deck our stateroom was on. Check in was quick and we were on the ship. Once on the ship, we felt we lost guidance as where to go next. We were finally able to ask how do we get to our room. They seemed surprised we wanted to go to our room already. We were in the buffet for lunch by 1pm.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BA

We had balcony staterooms on the Lido deck at the front of the ship on the starboard side. It was amazingly quiet considering we were on the same deck as the pool and deck parties, music, etc. Ample closet space. A safe, hair dryer and small trial shampoo, conditioner and lotion were provided. The shower was like a stand-up coffin with a curtain. The room was comfortable and sometimes a lot cooler than it was outside, which was hot and humid during most of the trip. The balcony was barely big enough for the 2 chairs and small table. On the balcony, the panel below the railing was metal on the stateroom closest to the front. So, when you sat in a chair, you couldn't see the ocean. The divider between our 2 balconies could be unlocked and opened to share balconies. The rest of the rooms going back had clear panels. The bed was really firm, so we had an egg crate pad added. We should have asked for more pillows, too. They were small and not very supportive, but were very soft.
