I have cruised with Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and now Norweigen. Norweigen, by far, was my most disappointing cruise experience.

The food in the Palace dining hall was sub-par. I had ordered lobster tail, which appeared lovely, but was very rubbery. The wait-staff was not attentive. We (only 2 of us) had to ask for water refills, waited for an extensive period of time for food courses to be set in place(and we were one of the first couples in the dining hall on a not so busy time). I am not a fan of 'freestyle' eating, where if you want better food, you have to pay an additional fee. If I am on a cruise, I want the best food included with my cruise costs. However, Norweigen has what they call 'freestyle eating' where , if you want a different styl/quality of food, you pay a set fee and order from the menu. The buffet food was good for buffet food and found the staff here to be much more personable and attentive than in the Palace. However, the waffle station, as well as other individual stations, were ill-prepared to serve what they were making- i.e. no butter, whipped cream or syrup at the waffle station.

Room services were poor. We had to ask for towel exchange on 2 occassions in one day before we received the towels. We had to ask for ice for the room twice before receiving it. Our remote control for out tv did not work, which wouldn't have been a problem had I not become ill on the 2nd day of the cruise and spent the next 24 hours in the room. Also during this time, I requested room service of 2 bowels of noodle soup with crackers. 1 1/2 hours later, the noodle soup came, no crackers. About 10 minutes later, the crackers arrived- stale to say the least.

We did enjoy the comfortable beds and comforters. The room temperature was comfortable. The room was small but servicable. We really didn't plan on spending much time in the room, but due to the lack of activities, we ended up spending more time than expected in the room.
