We arrived at the Dawn for a 9 day cruise at around 1:00 pm and it took us 1 1/2 hours to check in. Very frusterated passengers in line, especially the elderly folks who had a hard time standing that long. After everyone was on board the Captain announced that we had engine trouble and would not be able to make our first port. Disappointing. So, we had two enjoyable days at sea. We made our first stop in Tortola which was originally planned. We were then told we would be able to make Antigua, however, with the engine trouble we would not make it to Barbados or St. Kitts, instead we would go to St. Thomas and St. Marteen. Both beautiful islands, however, when you have seen them both 3 times you would not spend the time nor money for a 9 day cruise to visit only 2 new ports of call. To top it off we did have a fire on board which made us very nervous for about 45 minutes and did cause some evacuations but they did get it under control rather quickly. We later learned that they had been having trouble with the engines for weeks but choose not to advise us of such and communicated it very poorly and followed up with a letter that basically said "stop complaining".
The food was very good in the speciality restaurants but expensive. Very average in all main dining rooms and the buffet.
Casino crew was spectacular as was the entertainment.
Not very clean. Nice view and ample storage.
