This is my reveiw of the Jewel. There were two of us. We stayed in an A3- 2 B.R. courtyard room. If you are ever tempted to pay money for this , save it. I would have rathered stayed in the regular 2 BR suite w/o courtyard , and saved a ton of money. The room did not wow me. The bed in the small bedroom , even with an egg crate added , killed my sister's back. She said it was like sleeping on an iron board.

The perks of of the courtyard, and private sundeck, just doesn't do it for me. The courtyard is so-so tiny. They have this big, very odd love bed thing , that takes up alot of space that could be used for more seating. Very small pool, that usually had kids in it. I didn't care, I wouldn't go in it anyway. But it seemed to attract parents with kids. It is so hot , and uncomfortable in there on most days. And on yes there are seat savers even in the tiny area! lol

The butler (Erlindo), left alot to be desired. When ever would wanted room service he had a pained look on his face. In the end we stopped using room service, so we did not have to run into him. We had maintenance issues with our room. One being very cold air blowing in over the top of the tub, despite having the thermostat on high for bathroom. Called Butler, three times, he finally said it could not be fixed, but he asked them to shut it down, it could not have been totally, cause it still had cold air blowing at a slightly reduced amount .. in the whole time. This made the tub useless. I did want to relax in it . The second issue we had was all the sudden the balcony door would not open. This was during our nicer days at port. . I called, and butler came, made a call, said they said it could not be fixed til next day, cause they have to take whole door off frame, yea right! I said this is not acceptable. He said well call this number, I did , and in 30 mins it took a guy 5 mins to open door , and put cornstarch around frame. Keep in mind we are very undemanding people.
