My husband and I sailed on the Dawn 2/11/2011 through 2/20/2011.

The first indication we had of something not quit right was when the captain came on the Public Address at 6:30pm(2 hours after we were supposed to leave)to let us know that there were finally sailing but we had engine problems and we would be skipping our first port, Samana Dominican Republic. He said there were technicians on the ship to help fix the engine trouble and that he expected they would be able to resolve the problem.

Next, our stateroom was directly above a door that the crew used 24/7. It was constantly being slammed so hard that our cabin shook! We called guest services at 4:30am when I couldn't stand any more and asked to have our room changed. We were informed that the ship was full and so we had to stay where we were. We were told that the problem would be investigated and that if we were still hearing the noise in a few hours to call back. We called back later that day. My husband went to investigate and discovered that the pressure was such that this huge fire door had to be slammed or it wouldn't close. I stood in front of it and it was like being in a wind tunnel! Guest services sent a carpenter to meet us in our room, he said he had fixed the problem but he hadn't. My husband had to go down and show him the problem.

Cabin IF

Tiny cabin, door opened into bed. Very noisy, we could hear everything in hallway. Storage space OK. Bathroom had a full sized shower with sliding glass door.
