Our first cruise (princess, 10 day, 4 [make that 3] ports) for our honeymoon was awful. We vowed never to cruise again! But we got a great deal on a cruise out of Miami where we were staying for a couple family events. It was cheaper to take a cruise than stay at a hotel between events. And that's how we mentally prepared for this cruise- as a floating hotel that'll bring us to better destinations.
I've been reading the reviews here for months prior. They all seems to say the ship was small and outdated. The staff rude. The food cold, below average, and in small portions. Do not heed those reviews!
The first thing upon getting to the port of Miami was that Sky was just about as big as all the other ships there (Celebrity, Carnival imagination, and one other); though maybe a bit narrower. The first night, we did notice significant motion while at sea. I felt a little dizzy at times, but never sea sick.
barely enough room to walk around the bed. Suitcases had to go under the bed. Ample closet with safe. Only ONE electrical outlet. Adequate bathroom (hand soap, shower gel, and shampoo provided). Hair Dryer in the desk drawer. Small antiquated TV.
