We were very concerned about the bad publicity relating to the Thomson Dream before we left home but were agreeably surprised as we had a great time. We knew she is not a new ship but we found her clean and well maintained. Our outside plus cabin was very spacious with plenty of storage space. No problems with air con and plumbing generally worked fine. (We had 2 instances when hot water came out of the cold tap but this soon resolved itself). We were very well looked after by our cabin steward Apollo. Indeed all the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.
The food was of a high quality, varied and plentiful. The Lido Grill was fine for a quick meal but some tables were located in what is in effect a corridor. Waiter service in the Orion restaurant was sometimes a bit slow but apart from that was excellent; we were not in a hurry anyway.
The entertainment team was superb and the two comedians were very amusing. We enjoyed most of the excursions but felt they were a bit overpriced. The port at Margarita was a bit disappointing. The beach was OK but there was little else to see from the ship. All the other destinations were superb and gave us a great overview of the character of the islands we visited.
