I'm not a whiner. Really. But after 18+ cruises over the past 25 years, I'd like to think I've grown accustomed to certain expectations regarding the cruise experience. Having said that: If you're a new cruiser, then you should probably stop reading and go on to other more relevant reviews since I'm sure, just like with any other industry, times and standards change over time. And THIS review is about managing expectations.
For reference, this was my 2nd time on NCL, the last was on the NCL Sea in 2004. I've been on Princess, Carnival, Holland, Disney, Regency (they're out of business), and many trips on Royal Caribbean.
Embarkation: My companion and I arrived at the port around 11 am and found it somewhat crowded already but the lines were moving at a nice pace. The dock crew made easy work of our luggage. They made sure we had medication and other necessary items, then swept our luggage into the carriers. Our luggage arrived at out cabins by 2 PM in fine shape.
