We were on the Celebrity Summit, Southern Caribbean Jan 29th Cruise out of San Juan. We were extremely lucky and all of our flights were on time and the weather for the whole trip was gorgeous. We had a C2, 9038. One opinion, I would not get a concierge room again unless it gave me a big balcony; which this one had a larger one (triangle) and was great. We seem to be atypical cruisers because we use our balcony and don't do a lot of activities on the ship, mostly private time for the two of us. We also use ship excursions, which I'll hopefully get in the right review section.

State Room 9038 - Loved the room for its balcony. The "perks" were champagne in the room on arrival, a celebrity shopping bag (like the ones you get in the grocery store), another celebrity bag (that is heavier and has a zipper closure, a luggage tag, flowers in the room (ours were really sad looking so asked the steward about them and the next day I got a new rose which was beautiful and opened up over the week). We did not have chairs that changed/reclined, or the foot stools that are promised (I did ask for them once but didn't get them). We had a tube TV, and none of the interactive stuff worked. There is age showing in the room from things like discoloration in some shower grout, rust on the balcony, stains on sheets/towels; NONE of these things bothered us, I could tell everything was clean which is all I care about. We did get a 2nd bottle of champagne near the middle of the cruise; we have no idea why we got it; and it looked like all the Concierge rooms around us got them also. We did not drink it and told John, our steward, to do what he wanted with it.

You can hear noise in this room. First there is a high pitch whine that starts at about 8 am and goes to 10 pm; we think this was the T-Pool which is above us. You also hear the towel carts roll overhead because it is the path for them to get them washed. I travel with earplugs and used them but don't think the noise was bad. Our stewards were very attentive and did a very good job. The view is blocked a little by the overhang, basically can't see the sky/stars but have a fine view when just looking out. The support bars were only a problem once when DH wanted to take a particular picture. We actually liked the overhang because we didn't get the sun on our balcony and room for hours which frequently makes the balcony uninhabitable and the room hot (or dark because have to keep the drapes closed).
