We have cruised a few times, and several times on Norwegian. Our most recent trip on the Spirit out of New Orleans to the Western Caribbean was the best. The Spirit is an older ship and so doesn't have some of the advantages of the newer ships- smaller pool, no relaxation room in the spa, smaller rooms, no movie theater. But it was without a doubt the best staff we have ever had. From the stewards to the staff in the dining halls, everyone was helpful, friendly and attentive.

We had never sailed out of New Orleans. As we were the only ship leaving and the port is right downtown by the convention center, it was easy to get to and easy to check in, though the person who checked us in did mess up our photos so that we had to have them retaken on the ship. We got the port around 11:15 on were on the ship before noon. We got into around cabins around 2:00 with our luggage arriving around 3:30. The room was a little small (we had an aft balcony). We had a minor problem with our closet door which the stewards immediately fixed when we asked them.

Entertainment on the ship was a mix- some was very good such as Second City and some not some great, the magician. Still, on the whole well done. One suggestion, if you are on the upper levels move in a bit as it gets noisy by the door with people coming in late and leaving early.
