My husband and I sailed on the Destiny from 1/24-1/29. This was our first Carnival Cruise and compared to Royal Caribbean, Carnival fell shot. Getting on the ship was easy and we were all checked in and on board by 12:30. We had an interior room and the room was a lot larger than RC but needed some updating. We didn't spend a lot of time in our room so that was not a big deal. The ship was okay--once you got over the gaudy 80's Vegas decor. It did have a horrible smell in some locations and most of the ship needed some TLC. The pools were small and looked dirty and some of the other areas could do with some cleaning.

The buffet for breakfast was good. Although there was one morning were there was no coffee and no OJ left. It was only 9 a.m. The lines were always huge! The lunch buffet was ok. Nothing great. Most of the time we ate on the island and used the buffet for a late afternoon snack. The dinning room was alright. The food was okay. There was not a lot of variety and there were several nights that nothing looked appealing. The desserts where good. The cakes in the cafe were amazing!!!

The islands were fun and getting back on the ship was easy. The shows were fine. Nothing great. This ship seemed to lack a lot with the entertainment. Several times we saw people just sitting around look board. The cruise directors staff seemed bored with their jobs as well.
