We took my Mum with us, it was our first cruise, but Mum's 2nd.

We had a 10 and a half hour delay on departure. We booked this cruise specifically to go out at night around Havana. We got on board about 3AM. As compensation, good old Thomson would give us a complimentary tour of Havana at 8AM. Great.

Our luggage finally arrived at 7 so quick change and off on a terrible tour. If we had known before hand that we only had to cross the road and we were in the middle of Havana we wouldnt have bothered with the tour.

The second week we got a letter stating that we wouldnt be stopping at Santa Marta as they are still building the jetty. Amazing that other ships went there. We were then taken to a scummy container port in Margarita. This was 40 mins drive from the nearest town. The beach next to the ship was tiny, it smelt worse than the boat and as another boat was sharing it there was no room. The beds were black and broken. What a joke. On arriving in Montego More Bay we noticed it was another container port not exactly why we had gone to the Caribbean.

Most of the places we went to were beautiful.

As for the boat, OMG how awful can a boat get. When we booked this Thomson DREAM it was advertised it as 5*, it was down graded by THEM to a 4*. My hubby has worked on building sites all over the country and has never had to eat of PLASTIC plates from canteens. The self service restaurants only have plastic plates. Thought we were at Butlins. One day we had napkins which were still damp.I think this would be a health risk. The food was boring. A french evening mmmm, french onion soup, that was the french bit. There is only so much you can do with a stew, one stew 4 names mmmmmm.Roast beef, yorkshire puds, roast pots and tomato based veg crumble, left over from the Italian night mmmmm. If anybody reviews the food as good they must eat cr*p at home. My Mum buys a lot of food at Marks and she lost weight on the boat. Need to diet go on a Dream cruise mmmm.

The entertainment was ok in the theatre, though all felt a bit samey. Who on earth wants to see a Grumbleweed from the 60's, the other bands/music were awful, reminded me of a 70's social club, kept waiting for someone to ask me up for a taxi dance.Other onboard/bored entertainment was just as bad, go home astouding your family and friends with what you can do with a napkin, i have a few ideas. The list is just endless. As for the onboard library, i though libraries had books, not on this boat just cabinets of empty spaces.

The only plus was the staff. They were fab. ALL the boys had smiles and courtesy.

Apart from that we will NEVER go on another cruise, thanks Thomson. A Bl**dy expensive holiday on a bl**dy awful stinking boat. Less

Cabin review: DE9015

The cabin was roomy, which was good having 3 in it. But every night to have to listen to the entertainment got to much. Also the aircon was a waste of time, either too cold or nothing.
