This review covers shore excursions and food on cruise if that is what you are interested in.

We can into San Juan a day early. We got a "good rate" on the Intercontinental Hotel on Hotwire. I found the Intercontinental to not be a nice hotel and for the prices they charge they should be a lot better. If I would have paid full price for our room I would have been mad as it was I was just disappointed. If I did this again I would choose a hotel closer to Old San Juan because that is were the action is in Puerto Rico and its were you want to be if you want to explore Puerto Rico the day before your cruise. If you want the beach and the pool I may check into the resort Marriott. We stayed at the Marriott for a day after our cruise and that was a nice hotel.

Check in was really easy on the Serenade. We got in early around 12 30 and then went to have lunch. By 2 pm our bags were all in our stateroom. We booked an ocean view room and were very happy with the room over all. I think its was bigger than our ocean view room on the Princess. My only compliant is that the window was really dirty and could not see much out of it but we did not spend too much time in room anyway looking out window.
