We had an SC guarantee and got upgraded to an SA, which we have had before so no surprises there. We got to the pier at 12:15, parked and was on the ship and in the Lido by 12:45, very smooth boarding. The use of the Neptune Lounge is always a treat; if you need any paperwork completed, print out of stateroom charges, change of money, etc. they are there for you. Also, the disembarkation was a breeze.
I will start with the negatives first (not many). I have sailed on this ship 3 times previously. The ship is very worn; carpets, furniture, towels. My sheets (in a suite) had holes in them and I requested they be changed which they were right away. Ali was a very good room steward. The food up in the Lido was not up to Hollands standards at all, no changes daily, same food every day, with the exception of whatever roast they were serving; not much flavor with any of the food. They did not serve any Mexican food other than the taco bar out by the pool. That was the only negatives I experiences on this voyage.
On the positive side, the crew still goes out of their way to accommodate you and tries to remember everyone's name. The food in the dining room was good with a large variety on the menu and our dining room attendants, Usman and his assistant were fabu. They tried to anticipate our every need prior to us asking after the first night.
Cabin 6097. Worn furniture, couch, chairs, bed. Needed new shower curtains. Need new tile in bath and carpets need cleaning.
