Carnival Conquest Review - 11/28/04-12/5/04

My husband (DH) and I took his parents (DFIL & DMIL) on their first cruise to celebrate my father-in-law's retirement. This was our third cruise with Carnival.

We drove down from Kansas City to central Missouri the Wed. before Thanksgiving to spend some time with our families. We left on Thanksgiving Day and stayed in Tunica, Mississippi, that night. We got up early and drove to our destination on Friday, the 26th. That night, we stayed at the Sheraton Four Points hotel at the airport in Metairie, LA (a suburb of New Orleans). I reserved the hotel through Priceline for $40.12 ($30.00 + $10.12 taxes). It was a three-star hotel on Priceline. It worked out well since we were just arriving in the N.O. area and it was very easy to get to, just right off of I-10 on Veterans Memorial Blvd. Before dinner, DMIL had to go to K Mart which is just right down the street from the hotel. There is also a post office in the strip mall next to K Mart. Veterans Blvd. has just about anything you need. We ate dinner at Cucos at 5048 Veterans Blvd. (Mexican) since we had two buy-one-get-one free coupons we printed from the Entertainment.com web site ($10.48 total for 2 dinners). It was very good.
