Our family of four (with two teenagers 17 and 15) boarded the Pride of America recently. On arrival we discovered we hadn't been sent any tags for our luggage cases, unlike others had. As VIP's our tags SHOULD have been sent by the company, so that's disappointing and slack on NCL's behalf. Our escort to the ship was good. We were most happy with our butler service and especially the concierge James. He was on the ball, polite and very experienced, a pleasure to be around.
Our first night our suitcases came much after we sailed. We boarded at midday, and three of our four luggage pieces arrived at 6 pm, just as we began sailing. However one of the suitcases still hadn't arrived after seven thirty that night. We received no phone call to tell us the whereabouts of our suitcase, not even our butler or room keeper came! Eventually we demanded to be taken to security to see whether the suitcase was there, which it was. The worst part was when asked the guard told us our suitcase wasn't even on the list to be detained or scanned. For a VIP (family penthouse suite) room we should have had our bags delivered first and looked at more closely. That was ridiculous.
Our room was fantastic, spacious and well designed. The bathrooms were good, the beds as well, and well kept. One of the phones didn't work which isn't acceptable for a penthouse suite, as did one of the remotes for our TV and despite asking the batteries were never replaced.
