Sail Date: Jan 2011
Cabin: Deluxe Ocean View with Balcony 2A

We sailed out of San Juan on the 3rd of January (2011) headed for warmer climes to the south and we found them. The room was very ordinary as balcony staterooms go, but I didn't like the layout as much as I liked the staterooms on Princess.

Here are the drawbacks, or the minuses in my opinion of the ship. As you enter the room, all the closets are on one side of the short hall and the head (bathroom) is on the other so when one person has opened a closet drawer and has the closet door open to access the drawers, the other person either can't get into the bathroom or can't get out. There was a nice two seater sofa (with a day bed), but we never even sat in it (ever!), because the small glass coffee table was pushed up against it to give us more wiggle room; we always sat on the bed for whatever short period of time we were in the cabin. The last drawback to the room was the fact that the bar fridge was totally stocked so in order to use it for our own purposes (ie: orange juice etc. wink, wink) we had to empty the numerous bottles and cans and store them for the balance of the cruise. Also, we asked our wonderful stateroom steward (Naresh)if he could turn the fridge a little colder as it wasn't very cold at all and he told us it "wasn't really a refrigerator, but cool storage". He did however, keep our ice bucket constantly stocked and fresh.

AS for other negative aspects of the ship, I would have to comment on 4 areas: the specialty restaurant, the spa, the orange juice, the hot tubs and the buffet.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Balcony 2A

Cabin 2A

Lots of storage space, drawers and cupboards. Too close to bathroom door.

Bed was very comfy and temperature very comfortable.
