We (my 2 young adult / college kids & I) took our 5th cruise in Dec. 2010 on the Carnival Legend. We have always chosen Carnival since they have the reputation of being for the younger crowd, of being the "party boat", and because of our teenage & now young adult children. Furthermore, we have been sponsors for high school senior graduation trips; however, having the young crowd was not the case for this sailing. This felt more like a reunion for the class of 1944, as most of the guests were senior citizens and not high school seniors. That being said this older crowd did not deter us from having a great time, just wish there had been more young adults for my kids to "hang" around.
We set sail on a rainy Sunday from Tampa and the weather got worse the further we sailed. In fact we had a reported 70mph winds that Sunday night and I believe the reports as most the guest and even the staff did not make it through dinner (me and mine included). We have never had a problem with seasickness but it happens and it can be BAD, so the use of seasickness medicine, patch, band-aid, etc... can be necessary. But use before you start to get sick, as does not work after the fact.
When we were loading the boat we were given a change of port days, this was the second change as our travel agent informed us of a change of itinerary the day before we left; however, when we got onboard we were informed of yet another change. We were concerned as we had pre-booked and prepaid for our excursions. Evidently, change of itinerary is not an issue with on shore excursion planners and is almost expected.
