This was our 15th cruise on RCI and we are Diamond Members ... we have 3 children ages 18, 16 and 10. It's truly on of the few vacations that EVERYONE enjoys themselves as there is always something to do and eat!

We hesitated going on the Jewel as we have enjoyed the Voyager class vessels. We have been on everyone except the Adventure of the Seas at least twice. We didn't know if there were going to be enough kids on board during this Thanksgiving week sailing but there were plenty ... around 250 kids (or 10%). This ship is much different from the Voyager class. Although you don't have the Promenade to relax or stroll you have the Centrum which is from deck 4 to 10 has some type of public area to relax.

Room - 9656 - Royal Family Suite We went with the Royal Family Suite which had a better set up than the Voyager Class. The Master bedroom has no windows which I personally like, however there is no lock on the master bedroom door :-(. The bath/shower combo is for some reason raised and to step in and out could be a bit challenging. The living room area was comfortable and our cabin attendant Jacqueline was one of the best. I personally enjoy the comfort of relaxing in a living room and huge balcony and feel it's worth the extra money for the suite. Although we are Diamond Members and are invited to the Concierge Lounge, the Royal and Owner Suites guests are always invited. This is a nice perk. 24/7 Cappuccino machine, Breakfast in the morning until 9:30 a.m. and open bar cocktails and Hors d'oeuvres from 5:30-8:00 p.m. No one under 18 is allowed in during the cocktail hour which is different from the Voyager Class. This room although smaller has a great view outside and has internet access.
