My husband and I were traveling with both of our parents and chose this cruise because we knew that it was non-peak time for the ports and it would be less crowded and not as hot as in the summer.
We left the U.S. on Dec. 9th and flew to Barcelona to spend two days prior to embarkation. We had a great time in Barcelona. We had arranged Barcelona Day Tours to pick us up at the airport and take us on a 4 hour tour prior to taking us to our hotel (Fira Palace). It was a great tour and served as an overview of what we would want to do over the next 2 days. After being endlessly warned about pickpockets, we never felt threatened nor had any problems. Granted, we were very cautious and stayed together in a group but we never had any problems.
The day of embarkation was very smooth. We were on the ship within 20 minutes after arriving at the port. Since our rooms weren't ready, we went to the Garden Buffet. It was crowded and we had trouble finding a place to sit but that was to be expected since none of the rooms were ready yet.
I was very impressed with the space of our cabin. We had a balcony room on Deck 11 (11502). Our suitcases fit under the bed and the closet was very spacious. There were plenty of drawers and cabinets for storage.
The bathroom was more spacious that some bathrooms I have had on other cruises. I liked the tub/shower combo. We could have used a cabinet in the bathroom but there were plenty of shelves.
