Possible to Have A Good Time Despite Problems

Review for the Western Caribbean Cruise on Bahamas Celebration

We booked the New Year's Eve Cruise--left port December 30, 2010 returned the morning of January 1. Prices were waaaay more than the $119 advertised on TV, even for an interior cabin smaller than a closet.

I've read a lot of the reviews here and most are very accurate. Here's what we encountered:

On the phone when I booked (using the phone number on their web site and commercials) I asked specifically about our room, extra charges, etc. First, I was booking 2 rooms (three adults traveling). One was an interior cabin, that was supposed to have a double bed. The second was an ocean view cabin that was supposed to have an upper/lower berth. I wrote all of this down as he told me.

Cabin Review

Cabin 4

cabin 7404 is a handicap accessible cabin. Walk in and there is storage space to left and right, including a closet. Beds are on the right wall--upper and lower bunk. Very small beds--narrow and not long. Lower bed turns into a sofa. Then, there is a hall to the left leading to the bathroom door and at the end of that area is a desk with the flat TV. You can take the matt from the top bunk and put it on the floor in this hall area--just fits with about 6 inches of extra space on the side. Bathroom is large--due to being handicapped accessible. Big square room with shower in one corner, toilet in another, and sink in the third. Drain in the floor near the shower--no threshold to shower area--just a shower curtain, so water goes over all of the floor. A squeegee is provided to push water toward the drain. This wasn't really a problem: floor is sloped pretty well toward drain.
