December 11, 2010 - Emerald Princess departed FLL for Western Caribbean cruise.

Boarding was easy and swift. Ship was late leaving FLL. Evidently they were waiting for a group to board.

We couldn't believe the small size of our veranda cabin and the dinky bathroom that had very limited storage space. All I could think of was "Motel 6". There wasn't a comfortable chair or sofa - just a barrel chair and desk chair and a mattress that had seen better days. It desperately needed to be replaced. We had to ask for ice for the first 2 days. After that, everything about the room steward was up to snuff - am wondering if it had anything to do with the Cruise Critic magnet we received at Meet and Mingle that I put on the wall..... We also needed to buy a box of Kleenex on shore because the facial tissue in the cabin was deplorable. All the glasses and dishes in the buffet were plastic.
