December 11, 2010 - Emerald Princess departed FLL for Western Caribbean cruise.

Boarding was easy and swift. Ship was late leaving FLL. Evidently they were waiting for a group to board.

We couldn't believe the small size of our veranda cabin and the dinky bathroom that had very limited storage space. All I could think of was "Motel 6". There wasn't a comfortable chair or sofa - just a barrel chair and desk chair and a mattress that had seen better days. It desperately needed to be replaced. We had to ask for ice for the first 2 days. After that, everything about the room steward was up to snuff - am wondering if it had anything to do with the Cruise Critic magnet we received at Meet and Mingle that I put on the wall..... We also needed to buy a box of Kleenex on shore because the facial tissue in the cabin was deplorable. All the glasses and dishes in the buffet were plastic. Aside from that, the wait staff was cordial and efficient and the food selections were varied and interesting.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Closet space adequate -but not really a closet - hanger bar in the hallway/bathroom way too small, minimal storage space, no wand shower head and shower stall horribly tiny/cabin almost too small for two people - someone was always stepping aside/quiet location/no comfortable chairs/no FOX news/tired mattress-needed replacing badly/good location/ok sized balcony/
