Our flight to Fort Lauderdale via Delta was uneventful thankfully and we arrived at the ship's pier by 1:30 pm. However we were not allowed to board for at least 5 hours due to electrical failure that was being inspected by the US Coast Guard. We were held at bay in the terminal for over 4 hours and needless to say none of us were happy campers.Champagne and hors d'oevres were flowing so that helped to compensate. When we finally boarded we were met with more champagne and cocktails and I must say an overaccomodating wait staff. Seabourn has the most professional and happy staff that we have witnessed in quite a long time. The luggage was already in the suite when we arrived at 5 o'clock. Most impressive. Electric was finally restored an hour later and the party began. There was no need to rush for anything. Anything you might have needed or even would like to have was met with such eagerness it was mind boggling. The suite was exactly as pictured in their brochures so I do not feel the need to elaborate on the suite. Dining was exemplary to say the least. There is no fixed seating so passengers are free to dine with whom and where they wish. No matter where or when you choose to eat, you are met by a most accomodating, professional and pleasant captain or maitre'd to either dine alone or with others. Entire wait staff is phenominal. Everything that was prepared and served has individual taste and flavor, always served at the right temperature and presented beautifully. The executive chef was always visible and we later learned that he personally oversees every dish that leaves his galley. The menus change everyday and were the most comprehensive collections that I have ever seen on a cruise ship.Dining was 5 star plus as good as you would get in a New York city 5 star restaurant. Every day whether it was a port or sea day wherever you went you were addressed by your full name and by everyone. Totally remarkable. Also, without asking, you were constantly offered cold towels, champagne and sorbet while you sat on deck. The concept of all inclusive meant just that. Not having to sign for each and every purchase was great. Anywhere you happened to be on ship you were met by the same attentive service as well as being addressed by your full name. Remarkable. Seabourn spoiled us for other cruises and I might add is giving Crystal, Seadream and Silversea not to mention countless others a true run for their money. My husband and I would not hesitate to return to them in a heartbeat. Seabourn truly lived up to it's reputation.
