This was my 49th cruise. I usuually do this cruise/run once or twice a year with my Mom. She is a "young 76 years old" and lives just outside of Tampa. I am 53 and just outside Washington, DC. We both enjoy just relaxing, talking and having fun on the ship. It is not very important where the ship visits. I like not having to drive (traffic in the DC area is crazy), not having to cook, clean, answer a phone, or look at a computer. I have always been pleased with the Carnival Legend, and this time was no different. The ship is extremely clean. The crew appears to be happy always greeted us with a smile and hello. I thought the Broadway style shows were very nice and entertaining. The Cabin steward was great, always fast and did a great job keeping our room top notch clean with a smile. Out wait staff at late seating were also excellent. The food in the buffet was very good, not excellent, but very good, and the same for the Dining Room. Six of the seven nights the Dining room food was excellent. One night we ordered the Chateaubriand steak, what was served was NOT Chateaubriand, it was thick roast beef. The only other two things that were odd- both in the buffet, they were stingy with bacon. I never buy, cook, or eat bacon at home, but on vacation I do enjoy some at breakfast. With the bacon at each station they wre dolling it out 2 or 3 slices at a time? The other thing they were stingy with was Egg Rolls at lunch, another thing I never eat at home, but while on vacation they are a treat. They would have a full basket cooked hanging over the deep fryer, and put 3 or 4 at a time in the stainless serving trays. More than half the time the egg roll tray was empty while many were sitting cooked in the basket. Go figure? Cruising just keeps getting easier and easier.....this was by far the worst dressed group of people I have EVER seen on a ship. Makes my life easy, no ties needed on this cruise. While Mom and I were sitting upstairs in the casual buffet area enjoying coffee (we spent tons of time there, it was very pleasant and we both enjoy coffee) the dinner buffet opened and I noticed the line getting longer and longer. As I mentioned it to my Mom, a kind plump lady in her fresh tank top and tatooes said "Well Sonny if ya wants some food, ya better get in line fast, its only gonna get longer, cause you know what they are doing downstairs". When I asked what was going on downstairs in the formal dining room, she said "They are turning people away in shorts and flip flops". I did say ""Perhaps that is because tonight is "Elegant Cruise Attire" night"". And her response was "Well, we paid for it". I politely excused us leaving, wished "the tank top tootsy" a super fun ship evening, winked at Mom and suggested we get ready for 2nd seating dinner.

Needless to say, that was our favorite expression for the rest of the cruise- "WELL WE PAID FOR IT". Just becuase you paid for it does not give you the right to go to the formal dining room on "Cruise Elegant" night wearing a tank top, torn cut off jeans, flip flops and a baseball hat! That is the wonderful thing about a cruise, if you wish to wear that "style", join the rest of your peer group in the casual buffet and pig out baby. If you prefer big boy pants and a shirt with buttons (no writing or advertising please) you may prefer the dining room.

The cruise directer was also very good, sometimes I think they try too hard, or are just so-so. But this guy- WEEEEE Jimmy deserves an A+.

Balcony (obstructed views)

Cabin 7A

Clean, functional, spacious cabin, we had a basic balcony. I do not understand why the news on the TV is from Denver. Since the ship leaves from Florida, can't we have news from Florida?
