When we booked our cruise, we didn't realize we'd be gone on Thanksgiving. But RCCL made our very first time away from family during this holiday a wonderful experience. It was our 2nd time on the Explorer (we were on this ship in the Spring), so we were able to navigate the ship with ease. Crew, as always, went above and beyond to make our holiday sailing special. The RC singers & dancers were fabulous, as always. In fact, we saw one set of singers/dancers, then there was a turnover during the cruise, and a new group of singers/dancers came aboard. Both groups were outstanding. Ice show was fantastic as always. We participated in a wonderful onboard special which was lunch in the Portofino Dining Room with the Chef, Captain and several officers. We were greeted with champagne or mojitos; had a wonderful luncheon menu that was served with wine; Chef had a question/answer period; received an autographed Savor cookbook; thereafter we had a tour of the galley on Deck 3. It was a marvelous experience I would recommend to any "foodie". The cost was approximately $45 pp. for everything mentioned. Lots of bang for your buck.

Although there were more than 800 children onboard, crew was vigilant in making sure "adult only" pool & hot tub was kept for the adults. There were a few pranks by the children, but for the most part they behaved well.

The Labadee port has certainly changed dramatically since we were there last. Loved it, and happy to dock there now, rather then tender. All in all a wonderful Thanksgiving cruise.
