  • Sail Date: Nov 2010
  • Destination: the Western Caribbean
  • Cabin Type: Interior

Our sailing date was 11/6/2010 on the Crown Princess. Our first time on this ship, and the second time with Princess (Caribbean Princess two years prior.).

Lets get to the review.

Travel to Miami area a few days prior Cruise, stayed with friends, no hotel reviews.

Room: had a very nice inside room (that is usually our preference) on the Caribe deck. The room was compatible to other ships we had been on. The closet space was so awesome, so much space and there were tons of hangers were available. The bathroom is about the same small size as other ships in this class we have been on. The was a small fridge that we didn't use until the 3rd day . Our room steward was nice, we always had everything we needed for the most part. Sometimes two many bottles of soap. Was disappointed there were no towel animals on this cruise. TV entertainment was very good. CNN, TNT and ESPN in room.

Food: For the most part the overall food on board was good. Better then in our past Princess sailing. We ate mostly with our large group in the dinning room nightly at 8:15pm. A very nice selection of items each night for dinner. Also to note they had a handful of items that were available every night (steak, pasta, etc) if you didn't find something you liked.

The buffet lines were long at times but nothing to bad. Maybe 10 minutes at the most. The English Pub Lunch was a nice treat in the Wheelhouse Bar one day. As for Crown Grill. Food was okay, but they really need to work on their service. Staff seemed a little put off if you asked to many questions. Not good.

Ship: Only being a few years old, this ship still looks real new. We absolutely loved the international cafe near the main Piazza...met there at least once a day with friends from our group for coffee and or a snack. Sometimes it was easier to grab a coffee and a dessert there inset of waiting in the dinning room. The library, internet area and general pubic areas were kept nice and clean. Vines looked to be kinda special for those of you who like wine. The pool areas were real nice. Loved the rear terrace pool. Great views from two levels and a great full service bar. Heard from many that the Movies Under The Stars was fantastic. Wireless access (for large fee) was available almost everywhere on ship.

Ports: Grand Cayman . Well it looked nice from the pool deck. We decided to stay on-board and take advantage of almost no one in the pools or on deck.

Roatan: Went on a private excursion with our large group to a local beach. Was a great time.

Next port was Cozumel: as we have been here 2 times before, we didn't have much planned so we just walked around the port shops for a bit then looked for a internet cafe to chill out in for awhile. Jackpot found the internet cafe that most of the ships crew was hanging out in. So we chilled , drank coffee, and for a few hours brought our i Phones back to life. LOL.

Last Port was Princess Cay: very very cute place to relax and enjoy the good life. Yes its cheesy and mostly man-made. But damn the BBQ was great, beaches clean, and great party bands that played. Although the tender was a bit rough that day. Next time will try one of the cabanas.

Overall: Was a great trip. Will sail Princess again.
