We thought the food, service of the crew and excursions on the Crown were excellent. Of course there are areas to improve, since there are so many ships to sail going the same place.
We had a mini suite on Emerald deck before and loved it, due to late booking we ended up the a balcony on the Rivera deck which was very nice. The mattress needed to be upgraded and the AC at the lowest is at 72, so we always bring a fan.
The big show numbers and the comedian in the Princess theater was boring. The costumes designs were the worst we have seen and the "Elvis" Las Vegas routine was almost comical in being so bad. I would suggest the movies on TV.
We liked the balcony. Small bathroom, I don't think large people would fit. The shower is OK, but again if you are a large person a mini suite, that has a tube would be better. We did like being up on the Rivera deck great views, including all the suites on dolphin deck that are not covered. The AC will only keep the room at 72 if set and max. so bring a fan, there is a plug on the desk. The mattress is not comfortable and there was no top sheet. So we got a rubber egg crate and requested a top sheet and received those items very quickly.
We also enjoyed having the aft pool on our deck and the food court one deck up.
This was our second time, so we went to see the Stingrays on an excursion, loved it. This is a tender port and with so many ships at the same time, the port becomes overwhelmed the passengers. We were in line to return to the ship for over an hour. This is our last time to the Grand Caymans.
We did the swim with the dolphin excursion, one of the high points of the cruise. Not to be missed, beautiful park, easy to get to and great shopping right at the pier. Very friendly people and just beautiful space for passengers and very secure.
We did the West End and semi sub excursion, again an excellent time. Carnival has built a beautiful dock and there is a chair lift from the dock that takes you to the beach. Excellent shopping on the dock area, next time we'll just stay on the docks and go to the beach.
