We sailed on the Radiance that departed Tampa on November 4th for a short 4 night getaway to Cozumel. Let me say that RCCL didn't disappoint! For the price you pay to go on this ship, I don't understand why there are complaints. It's not the big WOW ships, but I knew that going in. All I expected is a clean room and decent food, which is what the Radiance Staff delivered.

Embarkation was very smooth. BE AWARE!!!!! Even if you pack water bottles that have any type of liquor in it, they will take it. There was about 100 people that was called to Deck 2 that was met by Security. You pick out your luggage and they go through it. Security will shake your water bottles, Gatorade bottles, and anything in between. Some people did make it with stuff, but it wasn't very many.

We were met by our room steward, Ricardo, who was always attentive and kept the room stocked and clean. Some people have written that they didn't like the fact that on Deck 7 aft the balconies are extended and they have less privacy. I must have been lucky because we had great neighbors on both sides whom we enjoyed talking and drinking with. The "fold out sofa" is a joke. I think that is the only negative complaint that I have. It is hard and very uncomfortable. The bathroom is average with that awesome butt hugger shower curtain. All in all, the room was very comfortable with very cold A/C.
