We arrived at the Brooklyn port around noon and were on the ship within ten minutes. Not only were we surprised how quickly we were on the ship, we were surprised and happy to discover our room was ready. Off we went to leave our carry ons in the room. Having had a premium Balcony on the QM2 before, we knew what to expect. The sheltered balcony is great on a cooler climate cruise for sure, not hot and stuffy like it was on a Caribbean cruise we sailed on. I find the state rooms quite roomy with lots and lots of storage and we loved our location, aft near the elevators.
There is something so serene about the QM2. which is hard to put into words. It is elegant, quiet and the service is fantastic.
The dining in all venues is very good, with Todd English and the Chef's Galley rating a 10 out of 10. The evening dining and cooking demonstrations in Chef's Galley was the highlight of our trip. Not only was the demonstration entertaining and a great chance to learn new things, the food was outstanding! The service was even better than Todd English, absolutley perfect. Kelvin, the maitre,d and his staff were outstanding, we ate there 5 out of 7 evenings. Can not say enough about how great it was. I hope to see the Chef back on this ship as he was just finishing his contract. He is reason enough to sail again on this ship.
