Sail Date: Aug 2010

We arrived in Amsterdam on 14 August 2010 on the Prinsendam after our three week cruise to the Arctic Circle. We stayed overnight at the Movenpick Hotel which was a great choice. We wheeled our luggage next door to the hotel when we arrived in Amsteram and were then able to wheel it to the Viking Pride the following day.

We were able to drop off our luggage early and were invited to have lunch. This was a light lunch in the lounge. When our cabin was ready we were escorted to the cabin. We had chosen to travel in the cheapest cabin and it turned out somewhat better than we had expected. As Aussies it was a nice surprise to find that there were six other Aussies onboard.

We found the staff all friendly and helpful. The food was good. There was not as many choices as on our Ocean cruises but there were certainly plenty of food and of good quality. There was always some sort of entertainment after dinner but mainly provided by the staff. The musician was talented. There were some evenings when entertainers were brought on board and they were great.
