MSC Opera Cruise Review by elshag1
- Sail Date: September 2010
- Destination: Eastern Mediterranean
At dinner time the experience dod not get any better. We were advised by the waiter that there was no jugs of water on the table and tea or coffee not available,UNBELIEVABLE !.Msc surely know how to make you feel welcome. YEA RIGHT !!The waiter was very apologetic but was no his fault, the previous cruise had the water and tea/coffee.the food at dinner was average at best and certainly not up the standard I expected.
The cabin was very nice and the staff excellent.
The accounting staff surly
the drinks prices were expensive (more that double that of p&o cruises)and was quite obvious that most people didn't like the prices as the bars were never full and the passengers that were in the bar were not drinking much.I suggest they look at P&O bar prices for guidance.
All public announcements were in 4 languages which got a bit tiresome but was necessary for all nationalities on board.
The entertainment was very good and no complaints there but only lastest for 30 minutes.
Demand for deck chairs was great with people reserving ?? their chair with a towel and the chair being vacant for hours.
Could not uses the casino as the air was thick with smoke and being a non smoker I could not stand this
Non smoking areas on deck were largely ignored with no enforcement by ships staff.
Would I cruise with MSC again ?? probably not.
The view was echoed by all of the english speaking passengers I spoke to
