NCL knows how to make you feel really special!! This was our first cruise as a Platinum Latitude Cruiser. Wow what a difference. We had VIP boarding which had us boarding the ship as soon as we arrived around 11:30 AM. We had our own personal butler to escort us onto the ship. We were not able to enter the cabins until 2 PM, however, we were able to check our carry-on luggage in the library on deck 12. We had a sit down lunch in the Summer Palace Restaurant. From there we went to our cabin and unpacked. After the lifeboat drill we attended a fantastic "sail away" party in the garden villas. One of our cruise critic members had attained the largest suite I have ever seen. I believe it had over 5,750 square feet which included 3 large bedrooms, living room, dining room, bar, outside jacuzzi, sauna, hammocks, outdoor private lounges, entrance foyer, powder room and access to a private pool and hot tub that had a retractable roof. There was a second floor that had more hammocks on a sun deck. When we returned to our inside cabin my claustrophobia set in. The ship was very smooth on the waves which concerned us since we were following a hurricane and were pleasantly surprised how smooth the cruising was. We had wonderful weather and were not rerouted as we were warned might happen.

The entertainment was wonderful. A lot of variety. From comedians, to jugglers, adagio dancers to "Oh What a Night" (A Frankie Valli Four Seasons tribute group). All were fantastic. The cruise staff was very entertaining as well. Rory and Isolda were our favorites.

We had a lovely Meet and Greet party with the Cruise Director and representatives from all the department heads on the ship. They supplied us with muffins and danish along with coffee and tea at no additional cost to our members. We met Roslyn the Guest relations Manager at this party and she was able to help us with a problem with our room. She was able to move us when we found we could not sleep in our original cabin because of some mechanical noise that was coming from the engine room. She even sent us a bottle of wine to make up for the inconvenience of moving our things. The new room was so much better!
