My husband and I (in our 40's) enjoyed our very 1st cruise with RCCL aboard the Oasis of Dreams.

We read all reviews prior to our October 9th departure and complied our pros and cons to each subject. Hope this makes it easy to go through quickly!

EMBARKATION:

Pros: NO waiting!

Cons: None

CABIN:

Pros: Junior Suite: walk-in closet, ample drawers, beautiful decor

Cons: Do bring power strip, only two by mirror. DO wish other guests would softly close their cabin doors in the early AM...must they let them slam??

DINING:

Pros: MDR, decent food and excellent service. Chose "My Time Dining" and usually ate at 6:00 PM without ANY wait. Table for 2 no problem, ever.Do eat breakfast at the Park Cafe..tasty paninis!! Solarium is a tranquil area for those over 16 years..thank you RCCL!

Cons: WJ crowded, food sub par. Felt badly for the elderly who had canes, wheelchairs and their luggage the 1st day. No one really assisting them.

SPECIALTY DINING:

Pros: Chops Grille beautiful. Do not order strip steak. Thin and tough. All other food was amazing with impeccable service. $25 per person.

Did not eat at other restaurants.

ENTERTAINMENT:

***Richard Spacey, you are a brilliant, witty, charming cruise director and we were thrilled to see you in person!!!*** If Richard is on your cruise, then make sure you watch him host "Love and Marriage", Belly Flop Competition, the dance parties and on the cruise ship channel 14.

Hairspray--LOVED it! Oasis of Dreams~LOVED it!

COMPLETELY agree with the numerous reports of too many smoking areas!!! We too, as others have stated in these reviews, had our expensive balcony tainted with the disgusting smell of smoke from others who smoke on their balconies. I understand many people continue to inhale carcinogens, but can RCCL somehow change the placement of smokers to non-smokers and their balconies? Hmmmm?

Finally, remember your video camera! The numerous neighborhoods aboard plus the ambiance and music just can not be captured with a camera alone. OK OK, one more tip..........drinks are quite pricey. Beer $4.89, specialty drinks $7.00. There is a blue and yellow Royal Caribbean cooler that can be purchased for $33 and 8 bottles of beer? Another guest told me that when you buy additional 8 bottles the cost goes down to $25. Great deal if you are with those who can chug a few beers by the pool :)

DISEMBARKATION:

Pros: Chose Express check-out, carrying own bags off in morning.

Cons: Very early 6:15-7:30 am. At airport by 7:40. Had to wait for our 11:45 flight for a while. DO think one could book a return flight home after 9:00 AM if using the early check out from ship.

Oasis--a true beauty!
