We travelled on NCL Gem 2 - 9th October 2010 with another couple. She is a beautiful ship, in tip top condition and absolutely spotless. We had a wonderful week and enjoyed ourselves but there are a number of areas which should be addressed.

We really liked the idea of My Time Dining on the Gem, and it was a contributing factor when we booked our trip. However, most of the food served in the main dining rooms arrived cold at the table apart from the meat dish, and almost everything is over salted. Potatoes, veg and pasta are only luke warm to cold....... such a pity.

Lunch and breakfast buffets are varied, we had no complaints , apart from the desert lines which were bland in general. Most of the staff are very pleasant and the deal of offering 2 drinks for the price of one, while you wait to be seated in the Magenta or Pacific is a nice touch! Read more
