I was very saddened to read the review by Steven of our recent cruise aboard Grandeur because my husband and I truly could not have asked for better service or food. We were so impressed with everything that my husband and I went ahead and booked another cruise before we got off. Therefore, I would like to respond to some of the comments. First, we found all of the food to be excellent. (Take a look at our scales and you'll see!) It was hard to choose just one appetizer or entree each night and the breakfast buffet was always a nice way to start the day. The steaks were always perfectly prepared and I had a wonderful time trying tasty new dishes. The desserts, of course, were something to look forward to every night.

Our waiter and assistant waiter were both amazing. They had a diet coke ready for me every night as I sat down and kept the refills coming. They picked up on our likes and dislikes (my husband always wants freshly ground pepper and I never do) and they were both very attentive. Our waiter gave us tips about what foods to try, where to go in each port of call, etc. I have never had such great service in my life.

As for facilities closed for cleaning, I hardly ever saw this occur. Occasionally I saw a sign up at the Windjammer but there was always food available elsewhere at that time. I also never had a problem trying to access food or drinks. I had no problem with the pizza and I still miss the french fries. Also, as someone who is not a big fan of children, I never once had a problem with kids running around and making noise in the snack area, or anywhere else. I never came across a crew member that didn't speak English.
