Cabin: Family Balcony

In September last year, six of our family had a one week cruise on the Norwegian Gem with 3 balcony rooms next to each other. We picked up the ship at Barcelona and visited Malta, Italy and France. The holiday was excellent, staff extremely pleasant and helpful, food wonderful etc. etc., we decided to go again this year. On 18th September we picked up the ship at Venice to visit Croatia, Turkey and Greece. On arriving in the room, · Minibar items were missing, we informed the cabin stewart. The minibar is supposed to be restocked and locked prior to final departure. The next day we were presented with a bill for the minibar, we refused to sign and insisted the items were removed from our bill. · The robe provided was filthy. The neck, inside and around the pockets were a murky brown colour (don't even ask). I asked for clean robes, which were provided approximately an hour later. · The duvet had a wear hole in. We thought this had been replaced, it had actually been turned over.

We asked the cabin stewart for an adapter and were told to go to reception.

On arrival at Dubrovnik we were originally to use tenders to get from the ship and all passengers were to obtain 'Tender Tickets' to ensure an orderly disembarkation. We were then informed that we would dock at the other end of Dubrovnik not using tenders (Tender Tickets no longer needed). We went to deck 4 to disembark as instructed. The floor and stairs (up to deck 7) quickly became very crowded. People trying to get out of the lifts at deck 4 were unable to do so and getting irate. Two members of our party are 80+, one has sight and hearing difficulties, both have walking difficulties. They were being pushed around and we were afraid they would be pushed over. My sister tried to reach them and was abused by passengers who would not listen and assumed she was trying to push in. Members of staff were present but only got involved when a situation behind us became very heated. As everyone had Tender Tickets the easy answer would have been to call people forward using that system. Quite a few people recognised this, unfortunately not the staff.

Family Balcony

Cabin B2

Room 9130 has a very noisy drain, which backs up when raining and floods the balcony area. Rooms 9128 and 9126 were far enough away not to be disturbed by the noise.
