This was our third cruise with RCI and the second on this particular ship. We like the Radiance class of ship as it a mid sized and meets all our requirements. We chose this cruise because of the ports of call and in particular Venice. We arrived in Barcelona on the day before departure and so were on the ship in good time by 11.30am. Unfortunately our luggage did not arrive in our stateroom until 4.30pm-just before boat drill! The cruise itself was particularly good and we were very pleased with all aspects of the cruise, especially the overall standard of service where we thought that RCI had 'upped their game' since our last cruise with them. The steward, dining and bar service was particularly good. The balcony stateroom we had was on deck 9 on the port side and if I were to do this cruise again I would have picked the Starboard side, as we usually as it seemed that all the best views were on this side. We ate in the Windjammer for breakfast and lunch and were on second seating dining( 9.00am) for dinner with a table for 10. The food again was very good and in spite of other reviews i thought the menu was varied enough to satisfy most people. We did not eat at the speciality restaurants as we had eaten at Chops ( steakhouse ) before. The entertainment on the ship was probably the weakest part with a variety of artists appearing. the Beatles tribute group and a juggler from Wales being the pick of the bunch. I think there is scope for RCI to do better here. Overall I thought the cruise deserved 4 out of 5 and if I were comparing it with with other cruise lines we have sailed on I would say only slightly below Celebrity , which I would rate slightly higher for food and service. Port reviews below. We also did Corfu and visited the charming old town and fort ourselves. The view from the top overlooking the town was very nice , but again you had to climb a number steps to get there!
