Bordering from pier 90 couldn't have been easier, even though our NYC cab missed the turn and we had to double back to the pier. He did turn off the meter. So kudos to him! Got to the pier at 11 and we were on board by 12. Meet up with friends (members of our roll call) that we had met earlier in the week (that were in NYC early to explore as were. After ordering our first drink of the day, we made a beeline to the Fish and chips stand (so GOOD). Then it was the muster drill (without life jackets)
For sail away we climbed the stairs to the top deck for our meet and greet with the roll call! So amazing that so many people showed up after getting to know each other over months on CC. (for those that haven't joined your roll calls i can't suggest more strongly that you do!)
After roll call many went to dinner as they had early seating while ours was late. So after showering and changing (our baggage arrived without any issues) we went to tour the shops and the casino (won $20 and lost it... but as my initial investment was only $5 ... it was entertainment.) Then we headed to our table. It turned out that they needed the larger table for a group that went from 6 people to 10. The MD was very apologetic and asked if we minded being moved to a "nice" table. It was then that i suggested by the window? Our seat was one away from the window. Considering that it was dark outside it didn't matter but it was nice to see even the night.
View of the water and the sky / nice size / with rough seas you do feel the ocean, not good for people prone to sea sickness.
