We are a family consisting of 2 adults and a thirteen year old son. Previously, as a couple we enjoyed a Greek Island cruise, followed by a Nile cruise, a couple of years later. So we are not regular cruisers, but have enjoyed the experience in the past. Our son has been on mini cruises, such as Cyprus to Egypt, but this was his first cruise holiday, and we chose this ship and destination, with this in mind, as they appeared to offer something for all different age ranges.

The transfer from airport to ship went smoothly, embarkation took about 30 minutes and was painless. We boarded the ship about 12 noon, and our cabin was ready for us. Our first impression was that it was smaller than expected, but I would imagine that is often a first impression, after all they are cabins, even though they are glamorously called Staterooms, and not hotel rooms. However we quickly got use to the size and we were very impressed with the way it was appointed, especially with the amount of storage available, which was often nicely hidden behind mirrors etc, important when space is limited, as it saves having clutter everywhere.

Our luggage didn't arrive, until after the muster drill, which ended about 17:30, which was a bit annoying(and worrying) as we had boarded by 12:00, but maybe this is the normal time?
