This is our first time on Norwegian gluten free. We have sailed on other cruise lines gluten free in the past. We had read great reviews on Norwegian and dietary restrictions, so we decided to give them a try! The customer service and quality of the food we experienced, exceeded our expectations. This "Epic" vacation was by far the best gluten free cruise we've ever taken. The Asst. Maitre D' in the Manhattan Room took care of our dietary needs for the entire week. When we embarked we were surprised that the Asst. Maitre D' had left us a message about our dietary request on our phone in our cabin. In addition, officers had typed a letter which we received in our cabin. We experienced such wonderful service for our dietary needs. We had gluten free Eggs Benedict, pancakes, pasta, bagels, waffles, lobster, french onion soup, cheesecake, flan and so much more! The chefs were wonderful at preparing gluten free food that didn't taste gluten free. So many times dining out gluten free, means bland, tasteless foods. The quality of food and taste was not compromised at all on the Epic. The dishes they prepared for us were fabulous. Never once, did our Maitre D' or servers make us feel like that our dietary restrictions were an inconvenience. Each day we were able to pre-order our food for the following day. When we arrived at restaurant of our choice, we gave them our cabin number and they prepared our food...it was so simple for us. Most of the week we ate at either the Manhattan Room or Taste. We did enjoy sushi from Wasabi on several occasions and they worked with our diet as well. Here's a little about the rest of our tip... Embarkation and disembarkation were the quickest we've ever gone through. The ship is beautiful! The design of Epic was very "un-cruise ship" like. Due to the design of the ship, we didn't notice the large number of passengers on board...other than at the pools. We enjoyed the Spice H2O area during the day, this area was much less crowded than the main pool. We enjoyed the small venues for entertainment etc. The shows and entertainment on board were some of the best we've seen at sea. We liked the contemporary design of our balcony cabin. We would probably get a larger cabin next time, but it was OK for 2 adults and a child. The Kids Crew did a wonderful job and they were sensitive to our child's dietary restrictions as well. The best part of the Norwegian Epic, by far is the staff. We had a wonderful trip and Norwegian Cruise Line has new, loyal customers!!

Family Balcony

Great view, nice contemporary design, didn't mind the bathroom setup, would be tight for 3-4 adults.
