This was my 2nd cruise with NCL. The first was 5 years ago with the Sun. We had two adjoining cabins with balconies for a family party of 7. We had a very good time, however my sister (a more seasoned cruiser) did have some complaints.
Positives: 11th floor/mid-ship/ balconied cabin, the itinerary, the cabin attendants, the Kids Club, general dining, ship comfort, balcony vistas, the former Cirque d' Soleil couple show, variety of things to do, 24/7 cafeteria. The chocolate fest night!!! Positive reinforcement to spray-wash your hands often (besides the more permanent floor dispensers) and employees singing: "washy-washy-happy-happy". The kids loved it!
Negatives: the charges and surcharges e.g. You used to get the welcome drink free, now they charge $8. The entertainment was almost the same rotation from 2 years ago. The feeling that everyone has a quota to meet now (with a little harder sell-- sign of the financial times). The striped pool towel accountability was a bit much. You don't get as many toiletries as you used to receive. The shore excursions prices were too padded. All expenditures are swiped on your keycard. As someone else's guest it was frustrating not being able to pay with cash or my personal credit card at the boutique, specialized restaurant or internet cafe.
Beautiful wooden closets. Plenty of drawer and hanging space.
Luggage mat for bed provided.
Sofa converted to a queen bed with a privacy heavy curtain (our teenager loved it).
Balcony had 2 chairs and a little table.
Desk area had good lighting to apply makeup, a great blow-dryer and a little coffeepot. No regular programming on TV.
Bathroom: Dispenser with lovely lavender soap at basin. Shampoo and zesty soap inside shower. Good shower pressure. Hotel-type clothesline. Privacy sliding pocket door for toilet (good idea).
