Background- We are second-time cruisers. Our previous cruise was on Carnival to the Bahamas. Compared to that cruise, this was very superior. We are 30 something's traveling on an anniversary trip while we left the kids at home.

Seattle- We flew into Seattle the night before cruise. Took a taxi to the Renaissance downtown. It was approximately $40. Nice hotel. Would recommend it. The only drawback is that the hotel sits on top of a hill so if you walk in either direction there is a steep walk back uphill to the hotel. It wasn't a big deal but if you have any trouble walking up a steep incline, I would suggest another hotel. Post-cruise we spent the day in Seattle before flying home the next day. We stayed at the Westin downtown. Taxi from port to Westin was about $6. Very nice hotel. Great location near monorail. Also an easy walk to Pike Place Market.

Embarkation- We arrived at the ship around 11:30 am. Check-in was very easy. No wait for a check-in agent. After check-in we waited about 10-15 minutes for our number to be called for boarding. It was quick and easy. We boarded and walked around a bit before heading to lunch at Summar Palace. They definitely try to direct you to the Garden Cafe for the buffet lunch. They don't even mention that Summer Palace is an option. But thanks to previous reviewers I knew it was an option and was glad. Summer Palace was practically empty and the service and food were a great way to start our cruise. We were able to get into our room around 2:00. Our bags arrived around 5:00.

Cabin 9520- balcony was good. We were near the very front of the ship so it's a pretty long walk to the back of the ship (ie. Summer Palace) but really close to the entertainment areas. Organization of the room was excellent. Plenty of storage!!!
